Guys, just to clarify here is a quote from "the man" MRaburn.

That should sum it up quite easily. Joe and I am both pretty easy going and we're not here to try and be lock happy, but as moderators we must also uphold the wishes of the sites's owner. We've all done it, I'm guilty of it myself, but it MRaburn's site and what he says goes. Also, if I ever lock a thread I, as well as Joe, do our best to let the posters know why I/we did what we did. I'm always open to discussion on this as well, so if anyone ever sees a thread I lock and wants to question my reasons please feel to PM me so we can talk about it. :SNSign:

Besides, you all should take it to the track anyways. I, like a lot of others, want hard numbers to judge by, not "I beat this guy by 2 cars or whatever." :nice:

The track is so much more fun than the street anyway. I think too many people are too lazy/cheap to go. They'd rather spend $60 on a Turbonator than $60 for three weekends at the track.

I totally agree...if you build a car to go fast, you need to go to the track.

BUT, I am an admitted street racer, and will always be a street racer. I'm not talking about weaving through traffic at rush hour either. I love street racing.

I know that this site doesn't like it, so I won't post about it here.

If its the rules of the site then people just shouldnt post about it. I go to the street races every sat that i can, but would never post a story about it on here because its against the rules, and the rules are one thing that helps keep this a good site and not what many other forums on the internet have turned into.

I totally disagree there! Now I DO NOT advocate street racing, it's dangerous and illegal, not to mention you don't get any proof or helpful information from it... but... it's not the same. I think street racing is more fun (I've done it, but will not do it again) because of all those factors.

    In summation:

Track Racing +'s = Safe, legal, helpful, smart.
Track -'s = Availibility (there are none near where I live)

Street Racing +'s = More fun.
Street Racing -'s = Dangerous, illegal, stupid, harder on car, can cost you A LOT if you are caught

I choose the foremost option--I get to keep my car at the end of the night. ;)

This site has a lot to offer as far as I'm concerned :hail2:

Most sites do talk about street racing where this one doesn't :)

Makes me wonder if one thing has to do with the other

I'll say no more and just leave it at that :D

Haha .... I thought/did the same exact thing. I "knew" what kind of racing he did .... but seen that he posted that "it was on the track" .... and that inspired me to start this thread.

My whole point for this thread was NOT about street racing really .... but more along the lines of "why do even the kills on the track get closed/deleted". Somehow it turned into a total street racing topic.

BTW, notice how many views this thread has gotten. I think it MIGHT have something to do with the thread title, lol.

That should not happen. If it does let me know. Guero's thread was about street racing and as such was locked.

i don't post about my kills, nor do i brag about them to my friends. i do not race at the track.

i prefer to find a nice hilly/windy back road to enjoy by myself, "but every once in a while you gotta put the smack down on a ho".

    LOL

I've been thinking that this whole time...if you venture into another subforum not so far from here, you run into lots of street racing posts.
