I am trying to decide on whether to get an offroad H-pipe or x-pipe for my new 2003 cobra. I have the American Thunder catback system already. Any idea on what the hp and torque increase is on the H-pipe and x-pipe? Any input is greatly appreciated.

The differences in power are very little really, personaly you wont tell the diff between the 2 if you swapped thus its all about sound.

An X creates the Nascar Raspy sound (wich i like)
An H creates a muscle car sound.

Look into a Dr. Gas or a Magnaflow mid pipe.

    Yep - what he said.
I had tried both H and X on my 98 - and noticed the loss of torque from the X, and I feel the H had a much better muscle sound. Im sticking with H on the new 03

Hey Tat99 Cobra, which H-pipe do you suggest? Make? Model?

I had the bbk catted shorty H pipe on the 98 - loved the fit and quality.
Not sure if they make one for the 03/04's yet though.

H is definetely louder but is said to produce less top end then the x pipe so it is all a matter of personal preferance....

Well for those of you that don't know, this discussion has been going on for a while.

Some say: gains from the offroad is very minimal.

Others say: they have reinstalled the stock H and picked up 20 HP and 20 ft. lbs.

What am I doing? Staying with the stock H until mods get great enough that I need a performance cats.

If you just want some sound, and don't mind running the motor lean, go for it, but I would get it tuned after the mid pipe install.

    Later
    Jason
