I just picked up a 99 cobra with 88K miles. The first thing I did was change the oil and replace the plugs. The plugs I pulled out alternated between soaked in oil (the threads and insulator, not the tips) with the tip black, and being bone dry and white at the tip? any idea what would make exactly every other plug do that? I also noticed that the car doesn't really like downshifting to 4th, once it's in it doesn't pop out, but unless i hold it in position while i let the clutch out it slides back up into neutral. Any help on either issues would be great!

Sounds like the gaskets surrounding the sparkplugs are leaking - they are seperate from the valve cover gaskets. You can order the gasket set from the dealership.
