I just got back from the dealer. I ordered a Premium '06 GT 'Vert, Screaming Yellow, dark charcoal leather interior, IUP, side air bags & 18" wheels. The best part-got it on the X plan. Now the waiting begins!

I'm really getting tired of these dam dealers not knowing anything. Don;t they work for Ford??? I ordered my GT February 2nd and it's still clean an unscheduled. I assume I will not get it so I hae been pushing my dads(service manager) dealership to order me a 06 ASAP! The Biz Manager keeps telling me that they can't order yet. Is this somethign that JUST came available??? HELP :)

They don't work for Ford. The dealership is its own entity. They've been able to order '06's for a week now at least.

Strange. The dealer I was at this week told me that they could not order the 06 yet, and that they were waiting on the price sheet. Where are you? Do you know what you are paying and what options there are?

Really? He was able to give you prices on the 2006? The dealer in my area said he could not. Very odd.

The problem is most likely that your dealer has used up his GT allocation or options allocations (like IUP). So he really can't get you the car you want in an 05 which is why they're pusing an 06 on you.

Your dealer is correct, prices for the 06 have NOT been announced by Ford. Most likely they will not be announced until August or September.

All a dealer can do right now is say that they will sell you a car a certain dollar amount over invoice, at MSRP, a dollar ammount under MSRP, at X plan, at A plan, etc. They will NOT know waht the exact price of the car is until prices are announced and the dealer gets invoiced for the cars they have ordered.

Then why are they telling me that they will GET me the car in late august/early september?

You are correct, not sure why some people above are saying otherwise. Here's a sample from my ordered '06 (last Monday), this is off of my VOC.

"T82 GT COUPE DELUXE RETAIL: $25,140 DLR INV: $23,076"

Notice the price went up a little. The couple options I got, IUP and leather-trimmed seats, were the same price as the 555 code prices.

I'm only going on what the dealer told me, and he told me he did NOT have the pricing yet on the 2006 Mustangs.

What am I supposed to do?

If you're dealing with a salesman ask to see the sales manager. The prices of most of the options are the same. The anti-theft system is now $295 ($263 invoice). The base GT Conv. Premium is $31145 ($24480 invoice). The 18" bright machined wheels (64E) are $825 ($735).

That WAS The sales manager who was speaking. Feh. I'm not happy right now. Unfortunately, this is the onyl dealership in my area who will accept the x-plan. Everyone else will accept x-plan for everything except the mustang. :bang:

I guess i better start pestering them now.

    Ordered two so far

I ordered a Vista Blue GT Vert about a week ago, and then found out that I am eligable for the X-plan with my new job. However the first dealership won't take the X-plan so I found a new one.

Anyway, when I ordered the second one the dealership had no idea that they could even order them yet. I actually told them that there is an order guide and that they can enter the codes into ford's mainframe or whatever, and magic....you have a price.

Maybe your dealership is waiting for the price guide to be published?

Some dealerships are definitly on top of things, but others have no clue.
