A friend of mine is thinking about picking up a pair of the ceramic coated pacesetter shorty headers. Have you guys ever used these? I told him I haven't really dealt with anything from them since owning my 87gt. I recommended he save a little longer and get the JBA's like I have. What are your thoughts?
And the fact that I can weld better than they can and I'm not even a cert welder... Stick with a company that is known for it's good work. I was looking up an exhaust combo last night: JBA longtubes, short catted H pipe and O2 extensions for 997.43$ and free shipping across the States. There are better deals out there if you look for them.
dont waste your money on shorty headers.. if you must do headers...get long tubes...no ifs ands or buts!
They're nicknamed Pace*****er for a reason.... I'd save up for a better set, probably JBA's in my opinion
In my opinion JBA's are the best bang for the buck, Sure there are other brands(Kooks, ARH) but they also cost over a grand just for the headers, and only make like 5 maybe 10 hp more than some of the other brands
I've heard mixed reviews on bbk's, Mainly fitment issues, but my buddy has bbk shorties on his 95 cobra and he's really happy with em.
One thing I always look for in aftermarket parts is history of quality. thats why I choose Hooker headers for all my applications. I use Ceramic Coated Long Tube Hooker Super Comps and their matching stainless steel off-road X-pipe for my 08 GT and never looked back. The instal was just as you'd expect from a header install on a new cramped car and the sound and looks are amazing. They have O2 bungs welded in and come with extenders for your stock sensors, also you can use your factory H-pipe if you want to cut it up. Took me and a buddy about 5 hours in the garrage on jack stands but a lift would have been easier.
It was a very furrious 5 or 6 hours for sure though! We were in a time crunch but got 'er done in time. Then I couldnt get my tuner to turn off the rear two O2 sensors so I was pulling my hair out for a while figuring out that, Im not much of a computer guy
