Ok, with the Bauman shift kit, i can raise the full throttle shift points 1200 above stock. Thing is, im not sure where i want them. It says "two factors must be known, current shift points, and desired shift points. You subtract the present from the desired to obtain the rpm difference." It has a graph and you match that number to the shim you use to get the correct shift point.

Problem is, i dont know where the auto shifts at stock. if i want it to shift at 5500, i dont know what to use to get it there. Whats the stock shift point at? What di you use for the shim?

any help would be great! I really want to try and install this shift kit myself, but im tempted to get it done else where..if it wasnt the 100-200 cost to do it i probably would!

Every car is a little different as far as shift points. It's very easy to determine YOUR car's shift point. Simply put the shifter into DRIVE, floor it and see exactly at what rpm it shifts itself into second gear. Before I tuned my car up and added a better air filter & exhaust, it shifted "automatically" at 4200 rpm's...now it shifts at about 4500 rpm's...

Well, thing is, the tranny is not in the car. I have a T5 in my car now, but broke my arm, so i'm puting a AOD in just temporarly. So the tranny is sitting on my garage floor waiting to be swapped in. Figured id put the shift kit in now. So as you can see..i cant check my shift points.

Should i just set it to shift at the highest point?

Cool..so i should shim it for maximum over rev, or between 5400-6000rpm. Thanks!
