Has anyone found and/or runs a performance cam in a 3.8L ('95 LX) on the street? If they are out there, I haven't been able to find out anything about them or their performance. Any comments will be helpful.
No major manufacturer is producing a performance/street cam for the V6, 3.8L. If you want one, call Tom Morana, at Morana V6 Racing, 1 (416) 412-2815, moranav6racing.com. He'll grind you one of three that he produces and provide all the tech info and other parts to consider when upgrading.
Actually, CompCams makes off-the-shelf cams for 3.8's... but I'd recommend going with a custom-spec cam from someone like SuperSix Motorsports (who will have it made by CompCams). BTW, there are quite a few people with street-driven cammed 3.8's. For instance, me.
How much of a difference was there from the stock cam? Intake/Exhaust lobe lift? is it lopey? Sound good ? Just curious
