OK guys just got a 99 Cobra and it is stock other than a NASTY side exhaust kit:nonono: , yea its got to go. So what are you guys running for gears? I was thinking 4:10's or mabye 4:30's  Has anyone had major problems with the IRS rear? What is the best sounding cat-back exhaust for the cobra? Is there any benifit from a diffrent throttle body? Sorry for so many questions, this is my first PI cobra and Im not familair with them at all. :D

Well my 2K GT isn't a Cobra, but it is Cobra powered. Mine has Dynomax Welded UltraFlows 2.5" with a MAC Prochamber and JBA headers. The sound is great. Gets lots of compliments on the exhaust note.

id say go with 4.10s, short throw, magnaflow, slp, or borla exhaust, i have a tb on mine, a bbk twin 65mm and i had to fabriacte it a bit, but ive seen quicker throtle response, but it does make the gas pedal real stiff

Im trying to get myhands on a 99 Cobra myself. Looking to trade straight up for my 02 GT.

And if i DID get a 99 cobra. Id go with 4.10s. Eventhough the 4.30s are probably the best bet for a Cobra...i think they are too much for a 5 speed trans and for a daily driver like myself. :(

Good idea about the gears for the pre 03'-04' snakes. :nice: 4.10's or 4.30's will do the trick for sure.

update guys, all the mods in my sig is now installed. The gears RULE, I went with the 430's and love them, the car turns up QUICK and stays in the mid to upper rpm range, exactly where the 4 valve makes big power:D . Im a happy camper :hail2:
