pics of alternator on an 89

    hello. i am sorta confused with the alt. out of a 915.0 tbird. it looks like a 3g alt. anyways i have an 89 notch that used to be a 4 cyl. way back when and when i got it, the alt. harness plugged right into my 91 tbird alt. so i wanna see your alternators to see what they look like. i want to see the wire connections and also the front. does it have an ext. fan or an int. fan. show me pics please.

    If it plugged right into the 89 harness its probably not a 3g. It was my understanding that a little wiring had to be done.
    3g should be internal fan.

    mine is an internal fan and looks different than that pic. it has 3 hookups, a stud in the back, a big plug on top with 3 wires and a small 1 wire plug on top. i am not sure if this is the original harness since i got the car already halfway converted to a v8 and stuff
