Well any of you guys that have kept up with my project here goes another big step out of the way. I finished painting most everything today and all thats left is the re-assembly of the body parts. This could be the best looking V8 to 2.3 swap car painted outside with a $40 siphon feed gun ever.

All of the turbo stuff seems to be up and working great and I hope to catch a test and tune thursday.

Its funny when you go back and look through the threads I've started and posted pics on. Look at the dates on the pictures March 1st this was a running, driving 351 car that I drove into the garage and began tearing apart. Now in 2 months time I've gone back to a pretty wild 2.3 turbo/ 5spd. Its another junk yard engine but this time it has a nearly all of the stinger bolt-ons and a holset. I've also painted it, done the 5 lug swap, built a new rear, and already made the fastest runs of my life and its yet to make it down the track without an engine miss.

Red We're staying at the econolodge in marysville and I'm leaving at about 2-3 am tuesday morning.

I have painted a few before. This doesn't have any clear on it. I used acrylic enamel and the clear is mixed in.

88stangmangt: I wouldn't exactly say I'm shooting for mid 12's with it this time. Since thats what it ran with the 351. I can't only expect some much since the combo has yet to make a complete hard pass. However with an engine miss Ive almost run a low enough 1/8th mile pass to equal an 11 sec run.
If everything will stick together and run like its supposed to I'd expect mid 11's and thats with a STOCK head, cam, long block and by using a bunch of stinger performance parts.

I know that but I just meant it to be reinforcement on the staff so they run more stories.

All I can say is that he has played a huge part in making this happen and the parts are awesome. I'm having a hard time imagining what this will be like later this year when I build an engine to support the bolt-ons I already have.

88stangmangt All of the 5lug swap stuff was from a ranger.. IE rotors and the axles I'm not sure about. I have a stack of axles here and I just went through and grouped together any pairs. I had the regular 5 lug stuff for disc and drum but I found a set that were about 3/8" more narrow than regular 8.8 drum axles. I used those so the tires would be tucked a little more. Origin unknown.

my 90 was a 4banger so i have to upgrade my spindles...prob go with sn rotors calipers/spindles....and ranger axles since they are shorter and with wider tires like you said they stay tucked in.

Why do you have to upgrade the spindles?
