I have an 01 cobra with about 13500 miles. Only mods are K&N and FR500 catback. I'm using So Cal gas (91 Octane).

I'm getting major pinging from the exhaust on WOT. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do such as maybe a different exhaust system?

    Thanks

Ok, I guess I'll just try different brands of gas.

Pinging from the exhaust??? Usually detonation (pinging) is heard from the engines cyl. head area.

This sound definately seems to be coming from the rear exhaust pipes on hard acceleration, particularly in 3rd or 4th gear. I call it pinging cause it sounds alot like engine pinging.
