I have an ad in the classifieds and I recieved an an email to this effect.

    "Hello
I'm really glad with the content of your mail.
    Thanks soo much for everything
Pls help me take good proper care of it cos i belive by now it belongs to me.
Please DO NOT respond to anybody again anymore.
About the shippment , i will take care of that myself. i shall contact a shipping company who normally does that for me.
i shall pay in Certified cashier's check Or Money Order IN US $ which would CLEAR in your bank account within 2 to 3 working days.
before we could proceed with the shippment.
If u are ok with that, get back to me today so that i could get the payment ready.
All you 've to do is provide where the pick-up is going to happen. if it's at the address you provoided , thats ok with me. i will forward your info to him.
Not to forget the shipping company funds would be added to your payment all what you just need to do is that upon the receipt of the payment you are to deduct your own money and you get the difference amount wired to the shipping company via western union prior the payment compeletely CLEAR.
They handle all my shipments for the past 4 years.
I'll be very grateful if you can send the funds to the shipping company the same day the check fully CLEARED for a faster transaction.
I am really glad that you want me to get the ITEM and i will be happy also when i get it.'cos is going to to a good home
    Pls email me back today.
    I'll need your data for the check, viz;
    FULL NAME..
    CONTACT ADDRESS..
    CITY..
    STATE...
    LAST OFFER..
    ZIP CODE..
    PHONE NUMBER... (HOME,OFFICE,CELL)
Pls mail me today to let me know i am the rightful owner
    Thanks for selling to me.
    Cheers"

Which is a little weird then I get this one.

"Thank for mgs..well the amount that i will send is 4ooo$ which will cover both your cost and the shipping company.....Am located in uk and the reason likes is that i have some item that i will carry along with item....So pls as soon you have the check kindly let me know in order to proceed on the pickup...Hope to read for you soon

    Reagrd"

I think it is a scam. Any input would be great. I eventually found out his is in the UK supposedly.

DUDE! I had someone try to do that to me when I was selling my Weapon R headers off of my Contour SVT.

He said he had a client who owed him money and that he would forward his client's check to me and I should deduct the amount of money owed and then re-mail him the difference.

I bet you a million bucks this person will send a cashier's check that will look LEGITIMATELY convincing. He'll tell you to mail out your item IMMEDIATELY upon receiving the cashier's check.

That way by the time the check clears and is recognized as a fake, he will already have your ITEM and your money. You'll be stuck holding it in the wind.

What I did, was wait for the check to come back fake, then I wrote a 2 page letter telling him to go **** himself in about every single way imaginable, just to let him know what his own mother would think of 'em.

It was quite funny since I didn't fall for it. Had I actually fallen for it, I wouldn't have thought it to be so funny, obviously.

Please tell me people don't still fall for these things???

If you have to ask about this being a scam, I would just sell the car locally, that way you will get the money in your hand then and there.

    Ya think???

If you had any inclincation at ANY time that this could even POSSIBLY be legit, then please bang your head repeatedly against a brick wall until you return to your senses.

If the above proceedure does not work then more extreme measures will be necessary to ensure that you are not permitted to breed.
