I know its been covered, searched already, but cannot find any pics of how to run power wire through firewall in existing grommet. I would rather not drill, can someone post a pic of the grommet or tell me where the main wiring harness comes in.

    Thanks

Are you doing this on the 04 or fox?

When I did it on my 90, the gromet to the left of the steering column(left when sitting in driver's seat). I took a knife and made a +(plus sign cut) and treaded the wire through.

Not hard, but easier if you have small hands.

This is on a 2004 GT 5 spd. I heard there is an existing grommet that I could run it through, I'm just not sure where to look.

I haven't looked under the dash on a newer mustang. Ship your car here, and I'll do it.

Seriously, just lay on your back, look, and find a gromet, closest to the fender. Once you find it, get under the hood, make sure you don't cut anything. Get a knife, and cut a plus sign.

There will be a huge rubber grommet to the left of the steering shaft. As stated above, simply cut an "X" or "+" in this with a razor blade, and run the wire through it. Just make sure you go from the inside of the car out, because it will not work the opposite way.

Thats where I ran mine, I have a 2ga. and 4ga. going through there. I used a drill bit, but be careful you dont want to drill into your wiring harness!!

There is also one on the passenger side you prolly will not be able to find it from the inside. but you can see it from the engine compartment. I had to fish the lines from the bay into the passenger compartment but it worked.
