I installed my B&M hammer shifter....it ratchets through the gears well. I finally hooked up the cable from the shifter to the trans. It loops over the trans, then under the tailhousing, and comes out on the drivers side where it connects to the arm on the side of the trans. Here is the problem.. I have to pull HARD to try and get the car out of park. Then it skips revers and neutral and goes straight to drive. It ratchets down one gear, but wont ratchet to the next gear. I never could get the thing into reverse. How do I adjust one of these things? Or is this even an adjustment problem? There are no kinks in the cable, and its twisted around the trans exactly as the diagram shows....its tight. any help?
loosen the mounting bracket while the cable is still attached. move the cable in the mounting bracket, and then tighten. this lengthens or shortens the wire itself from the mounting point.
