Problems with revving

I have a 02 V6 Mustang Convertible (Automatic). I have put an intake system on it. Lately, my car has been doing some wierd things. When I start the car it revs normal above 1. Then, instead of going down it sometimes goes higher even above 1.5. Or when I'm driving and then I shift into neutral between drive and reverse, it revs above 1 again so when I shift into drive or reverse the car jerks like I was pushing the gas in neutral and then dropping it into drive. I was wondering if anyone had these problems or if anyone has any ideas of what it could be. Thanks.

thanks for the reply. i was thinking that but i've had it in there for almost 2 years now. but i'll check my connections to make sure. i've also gone ahead and taken out the filter and cleaned it.

update

So after I reconnected everything, it seemed to work. The computer seemed to reset since it was disconnected while the filter was drying. Tonight, I started my car and its revs stayed around 1000rpms hovering between about 900rpm and 1300rpm. I let it run for 3 minutes and it still fluctuated there. I made the sure the sensor was connected correctly. Any other suggestions people have?

 ...might want to bring it to somewhere and get it tuned (sounds like over kill, but on the '05's if you change the intake you have to get it re-tuned) it's worth a try... Just cause i've never had this problem, although I see alot of people on here usually do

thanks for the reply

yeah, that seems like what i'll probably have to do. i'll probably end up putting the old intake in because its still under warranty. does anyone know that if the sensor needed replacing/cleaning if it would be acting this way?
