Hi everyone. I'm really liking the new Mustang, especially in a black spoilerless 5 speed configuration. I like it enough to buy one. Now the problem is I just bought a '03 Mach 1 in August. I love the car and it's my first Mustang so there's some centimental attachment already, plus it's just an awesome car in Mustang history that I want to hold on to. So my question is, how many years will the '05 Mustang platform be built? I'm sure it hasn't been announced for sure, but even a guess would help. I'm going to college in the fall so I'm guessing that buying an '05 in addition to my Mach won't be possible during my college years (more than likely going into architecture too, which I've heard is 6 years of school :bang: ). If anyone knows that'd be great.

    Thanks,
    Blaise

SublimeRT, enjoy your Mach 1 until you can trade it in without going under on the Mach. I fortunately have a buyer for my '02 GT Vert. Unfortunately I also have to wait a year or two before the '05 Verts come out and see how the market is for one. Good thing about our cars is that we don't NEED to sell/trade ours in.

Yeah, I would enjoy your Mach 1, you won't get much for it now because of all the hype built up around the new stang. Plus in the begining we know that the dealers will have huge mark up on the new cars. So I would hold out for a while. I would assume that the body would be around for awhile the Fox was around for about 15 yrs, sn95 was here for 11yrs.

It'll be a while. Ford didn't spend all this money just to phase the platform out entirely in 4-5 years. Expect the current body style to last for like 5-6 years with minor asthetic changes here and there. Then IMO they'll likely revamp it entirely as far as looks are concerned.
But keep your Mach. In 20 years that thing will be a true collector's item and by the time you get out of school I'm sure there will be a nice selection of special edition Stangs to pick and chose from.

I have a 93 and 97 cobra, both were bought brand new and are paid for. I have been toying with getting a new one but with the 2006 looming over our heads I will wait. I also am considoring the purchase of a classic and doing a resto. But I also need something more reliable for daily driving and I am considering an Audi A4. I am probably going to wait until 07 or 08 before I make a move on a new Cobra.

    Me too Spanky442.

I already own 2 Mustangs. A 2001 GT and a 2002 V6 Mustang. I drive the V6 all year round and I store my GT. I want to buy the new body style Mustang, but will have to wait until the spring of 2006 or sometime in 2007. I want to see what the new 2006 Cobra is going to look like. I might buy one if it's nice looking and if the price is not too expensive. If it looks ugly or if it's too expensive, I will buy the Mustang GT instead. The spring of 2006 is already 2 years away. I still need to put more miles on my current Mustangs before I buy another new one.
