Hello, im new to the v6 mustang forum. I was wandering if i should get into the v6 mustang field, Im worried about gas prices so that's what stopin me from buying a GT and not to mention insurance. I was thinkin about buying a 94-98 v6 mustang. Is there alot of stuff u can do to a v6 mustang? Also how much horsepower and torque does a v6 mustang push out. Any help would be great!!

You can basically do the same thing to a v6 that you can do to a GT... you're just starting off smaller. Manual ~170-180rwhp, auto ~150-155rwhp

A GT will not use excessively more gas than a V6, however you are correct in that insurance would probably be higher. Some of the easiest/best/cheapest performance mods for a V6 include true dual exhaust, 4.10 rear gears w/ T-Lok, and UD pullies.

the 99-04 cars have 40 more hp than the 94-98 cars due to a different intake, if that plays into your decision at all. 190ish to 150ish

99-04 V6s dyno at around 155rwhp for autos, 165-170rwhp for manuals. 96-98 V6's dyno around 130 for manuals, 120-125 for autos, and 94-95 are like 125 manual, 115 auto. You can do just about anything, supercharge, turbocharge, port and polished heads and intake sets, cams, headers, dual exhaust, stroker kits, nitrous, and there are other things too. The fastest production based V6 is a 1995 3.8 heavily built and stroked to 4.3 running a lot of boost, somewhere around 560rwhp. He runs mid to high 9's at the track.

Just about any car lot in the nation will have at least 1 used Mustang on it. It may take a little longer to find a 94-98 though. Look around at local shops and see if they have any, and check out the numerous online used car resources (autotrader, ebay, etc.).

A local shop near where I work has 3 cobras and 2 GT's (currently).. it's basically becoming a used high-end mustang shop. :D I drool every time I drive by the place.

Get a '96-'98, unless you can get proof that the headgaskets have been replaced on the '94-'95. Six months ago, my roommate bought a '94 without asking me about it, and now I'm helping him do an engine swap.:notnice:
