I've got the Mach 1000 system, nice system, sounds great and all..but my rear speakers on the deck thats behind my back seat is crackling something horrible. From what I understand, and what the guys at a few Ford dealership are telling me is that you have to buy the entire enclosure that holds both 6X9s and the tweeters...new from the dealership it costs around $600some dollars..maybe more, i turned my ears off when I heard that high figure. But I was wondering if anyone knows any good places on-line that I can find these speakers??..they are the same thats in the 460, so I cant imagine them being that hard to come by. Checked ebay, they have some pretty reasonably priced, but used..and I dont mind getting them used but would like to have new. I'm not interested in replacing them with aftermarket..I dont care about systems that much, just want mine to be original and sound good as it was again. Thanks

Why don't you get them replaced under warranty?

I still think Ebay is your best bet. What is blown the mids or the tweets?

Did you find another set of speakers, then?

If ebay holds no luck for you then go and buy the cheapest 5x7 size speakers you can find. Shouldn't be tough to find some factory replacements for like 20 bucks.

Okay, so I have decided that I would like to go a differany route. I pulled the rear speaker deck and yanked out my amp rack and subs from the Mach 1000. Essentially I just want to replace my 6x8 and tweets with aftermarket and then replace my door speakers shortly after. Can this be done? I dont understand why it couldnt. Why are the Mach systems such a pain?
