rear end howl at 80km/h

    only under de-accel rear end sounds like a plane slowing down only a 80km the minute i get back on the throttle the noise is gone and it happens all the time is this due to the concave in the ring and pinion on the teeth i checked all the preload and tooth pattern contact its all set up good any ideas out there its got 3:73 HELP IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!! :bang: :bang:

    FORD had a TSB for this in later 2k. But since you changed the gearing and it is probably out of warranty for this fact I dont know what you would do. If memory corrects me i think it was something to do with the upper control arms?

    Anyone else?

    it did the same thing with the stock gears the car is a 01 and only has 27km it stilll has warranty so whats up with the upper arms if u can let me know

    Well go to ford and ask them to look at the TSB for your car and hopefully around the mid year 2000 mark and see what they can pull up about it. I cannot remember the particulars, but when I had my fixed they changed the rear end totally for the 8.8 rear.
