    Hi,

I am just new and honestly don't have much idea about engines so forgive me. I do have a 1967 Mustang Coupe that I would like to rebuild. The engine(straight-six) and the transmission(automatic) are still original but not working properly anymore. tried fixing it with my friends who has knowledge but to no avail. So I decided to look for a new V6 engine and transmission for the engine so i can use it daily and more efficient in Gasoline consumption. I need your help in the type of engines and transmission that would fit my needs. I'm not really up to power. Your recommendation would be much appreciated. where could i possibly buy at a very reasonable price. Forgive me for my stupidity with these stuffs. Thanks in advance.

That straight six is a very nice engine and if rebuilt properly, can give you reliable and fuel efficient service for years to come.

I recommend you get the straight six rebuilt by a reputable shop, have your carb rebuilt by Pony Carbs ( http://www.ponycarburetors.com/ ) and get an overdrive transmission for it (AOD automatic or T-5 manual). You should be over 30 MPG with that setup.

    Good Luck :nice:
