The shift knob that comes standard in the V6 or the GT may not be the one you want to use. Maybe you are like me and wanted a billet one. I did a lot of shopping and there just isn't much for choices out there for our newer cars. All the good shift knobs fit up to 2004 only. I have the answer. I recently bought a billet shift knob from UPRproducts.com that is engraved with V6 on it. It would only screw on a couple of threads & then stopped. I took it to 3 machine shops before I found one that would re-tap it to fit. The shifter shaft is 12mm X 1.25 thread pitch. If you decide to get one of these aftermarket shift knobs, you will need to have it re-tapped to these measurements. Mine works great now and looks even better! Questions? Contact me. Julie
That's good info to have Julie ..... thanks I had to find that out the hard way myself! but some of these knobs come with several bushings that will do the trick too.
