Recently, an 03 Cobra that belongs to my family was rolled at relatively low speed.:( For the sake of insurance, the car is totaled. It has roughly 12000 miles on it, was kept in impeccable condition and ran a 12.24 in the quarter mile. Upgrades include Flowmaster Exhaust, upgraded throttle body, upgraded intake and smaller SC Pulley. All original parts are in storage as well. I would like to borrow on the knowledge of the experts here to try and answer a few questions. They are as follows:

-What parts do you think would be useable? (I assume engine, trans, drivetrain, interior)

-What forums, etc. would be good to get the word out that I am interested in selling parts from this car? (sale would most likely be conducted through EBay for the security of all parties)

    - What would be realistic ballpark prices I could expect to get for each of the parts?

-Do you believe there would be any interest in purchasing the entire vehicle in its current condition?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

First off you have zero posts and you have joined this month so this greatly increases the odds that you are full of shiot.

However, if by some chance you speak the truth I would suggest doing your own initial research and then asking much more specific questions. Questions like what is _____ worth rather than "list out for me everything I can sell and tell me what I should sell it for".

And oh, BTW... :D Welcome to StangNet :SNSign:

If it's totalled what did it cost you to buy it back from the insurance company? I'm sure they didn't just pay you or the finance company off and then told you to keep the car too did they?

I can only assume a lot of first timers are liars on this site given your reaction. I'm not one of them. I assure you that the car was rolled, the owner is sad and we are trying to recoup some of the loss. As for specifics, the reason I asked a blanket question is that I'm not as well-versed in this niche market as some of you may be...in other words I may not know that the left HVAC control knob is worth 1600 dollars (hypothetical? Yes.). Also, thanks for the welcome!

You are correct, there is a difference between the amount dispensed based on whether or not we keep the car. Hence the questions regarding value.

Well your best bet would be to head on over to one of the forums that has a larger 03/04 Cobra user base. Try checking the classifieds over on SVTPerformance.com or ModularFords.com. You should be able to find out the going rate for some of the parts which are still salvageable. I would think the motor & trans would be worth around 5K and you might even be able to sell the IRS for $750 or so. The leather seats should garner at least $500 for the set. Stock rims should get you a couple hundred bucks depending on what their wrapped in and how much tread is left.

P.S. Trout and many others including myself are just very weary when it comes to user with very low post counts offering parts for sale. There seems to be more and more scams being purpotrated through the different message boards every day. In fact I just helped a member here from getting ripped off on a Whipple supercharger. Some ass hat on a different forum allegedly had two for sale and posted pictures of them. Thing is the picture were of cars from KNOWN MEMBERS of another board! Dude was trying to scam people out of money for merchandise he doesn't own. :nono:

U.M.- Thanks for the info, it was very helpful! I will continue my reasearch with the direction you have given me. Sorry for the ignorance regarding the scammers and such. I have no intentions of that. I'm just looking for info. That's one of the reasons I'm thinking of using EBay to sell the parts just to have some measure of security and traceability for both buyer and seller. Again, your info will be put to good use. Thanks!
