Is it too difficult to reset the timing for my '89 LX 5.0 on my own? Im noy super mechanically inclined, but I didnt know if it would be better to just let a shop do it?

Not if you have the tools. Bring the car to running temp. Attach your timing light to the #1 wire. Loosen the hold-down bolt on the distributor. Pull the spout on the distributor. Shoot the light at your Harmonic dampener (do in at night or at twilight) and see what to #'s read. Rotate the dist to advance timing or retard it. Tighten down the dist bolt when you reach the desired setting. Plug in the spout and your done. Wa-la! :nice:
