"Restomod" is now registered?

    While looking on Ebay I came across this title:

    Mustang 65-73 Restomod® Black Remote Shifter Handle

    And low and behold, it's Mustangs Plus who holds this trademark. WTF??
    What gives?:shrug:

    Obviously they've started their own product line and branded it with a catchy buzzword.

    How would that affect the other places using Restomod? Are they going to be required to pay them a nickel every time they use that term? What a crock of poop. They didn't coin the phrase.

    No different than mac copywriting the phrase "cat-back" ... kinda stupid really..

    They registered it several years ago so all of us just switched to using "Resto-Mod."

    They've said they won't exercise the TM but I wouldn't count them out either.
