anybody ever messed up anything serious hitting animals. I had an encounter with a turtle the other day, wasn't even thinking, drove right over the top of it. I ruined it's day to say the least. I had to pull over to check under the car, it was super loud, and then a couple of miles later, a dead possum. Found a couple of hairs but that is all. I measured the lowest point under my car, right behind the oil pan, some kind of brace, 3.5 inches. roughly a cigarette pack,is all that will go under it if that. and the second part, I filled up my tank, pretty much topped it off as much as possible, drove on some twisty backroads, and the guage after 90 miles was still touching the full mark. does that sound right? I never really got on it, but even with the gears? oh well guess I can't complain. just wanted to see if that was normal. thanks, chris

ive discovered with my stang that when i fill up and go for a long drive the gas gauge barely moves. once i turn the car off and get back in it the gauge goes down to 1/4 tank.

well if you did any damage you would have seen it by now. most of the undercarriage stuff is out the way so i doubt you did any major damage. as for me, well i have smashed a deer in my old 95 gt. crumpled up the radiator support, pushed the radiator/fan into my alternator and ripped my hood in half. as for your gas gauge it seems to be a ford thing that when its full it takes a while to drop down but when it gets past 3/4 it should fall quick.
