I have a headlamp out on my 05 S281 and the dealer is now refusing to perform warranty repairs because they claim Saleen owes them 20K.

Do the HID lamps have "bulbs"? If so, where can I purchase one and how are they replaced?

    Thanks!

Go to a different dealer if there is one close enough. If not, try contacting Saleen directly to see if they can do anything for you.

I don't believe you can replace the bulb in a HID lamp the way you can in a halogen lamp. Either contact Saleen or you may have to pony up $1000 for new HIDs.

Either the lamp is out, or the ballast/ignitor might be fried.

No real way of knowing really but there are replacement bulbs and ballasts on the web.

I will preface this by saying that I'm not familiar with this Saleen's setup.

For basic trouble shooting, can you swap components from the opposite side to do some A-B-A testing? Or is everything RH / LH specefic?

I don't think the bulb would fit in the socket but I'd be REALLY careful handling an HID system while it's hot. The ballasts run to the tune of 50,000+ Volts!
