I had the front windows on my GT tinted about 3 weeks ago and already have scratches down the center of them. Talked to the tint guys and they will retint at n/c but said I need to find a kit to keep the glass from being scratched again. Has anyone else had this problem and what was done to fix it? Any help is appreciated.

This is a common problem and has been reported on various forums. Prior to tinting your windows on the 2005 Mustang you must obtain mole skin or felt strips (call it what you want). The person installing the tint should be able to install the strips. If they can't then find another tint guy. I have tinted mine and have not seen any problem yet and don't expect to see anything in the future. Talk to Jeff at Terrific Tint (949) 365-9092. He should be able to set you up.

vetteski is right:

Jeff at Terrific Tint has done all three of my cars and the tint is great quality and he knows what he is talking about. In fact he is the one who told me that the 2005 model doesn't come with the felt strip on the inside of the window and recommended that I put the felt strip on, so of course I said do what you need to do. I have had no problems with scratching of my tint.

CARS:

1. 2005 Mustang GT (Sonic Blue)
2. 2001 Mustang GT (Mineral Gray)
3. 1987 Porsche 944 (black)

If your tint shop can't provide the felt stip, then like vetteski said use another tint shop.
