I just ordered the SCT SF3 hand held tuner today. My question is what will I gain in hp and tq with the 92oct tune? I will have a dyno tune when all my mods are complete to maximize performance. Mods are in my sig.

What other mods are you looking to do?

I did a JLT CAI, high flow Bassani cats and full Bassani catback 2.5" exhaust...then I did the SCT tune and my seat of the pants dyno says it gained some compared to just the mods and no tune......but I spoke to Mike at BDP in lakewood, he felt a dyno tune is money wasted with just the simple mods......just an FYI

I have long tubes and off road x-pipe on order. I have under drives, and 65mm tb on the way. This winter I am going to have the heads and intake ported with stage II comp cams.

I haven't been on a dyno since I got my Livewire hooked up but I could notice smoother power and my friend said it felt faster then the last time he rode in my car. It also idle's smoother and I have gained about 4-5 MPG... I feel it was a worth while mod and it has a race fuel download that I will hopefully get to try out next friday.

I was under the impression that once you put on a CAI, you almost have to do a tune, just to get it running properly?

Or is this something that the dyno shops all say, to get our business?

I've hear that's the case with the 05 up Mustangs. You normally don't have to with a pre 05, but you may not get the max benefit, especially with several mods.

I just down loaded the "can" 92 oct. tune from SCT. The idle is much better with the tune. My C&L would be slow to return to idle. The seat of the pants dyno is very happy. The car is a bit faster. The throttle response is day and night. Over all I am very happy with the tuner. Now I need to install all my go fast parts and dyno tune it. I want to see 315rwhp and tq.
