right behind the pass side strut tower. It'll just be hanging down there and it'll have a little cover over the end of it. Think it says TEST on it or something like that. Its back up in that area I have circled.

anyway my instructions are to jumper the connection between the Self test input connector and the EEC IV test harness and what I found is a wire with a plastic butt on it that says "EEC TEST" sorry but this is my first experience working on an american car so I am kinda clueless

Yes thats it. It has a big black plug and a little grey plug. Are you using the Actron Code Scanner? If so, plug the scanner in right there, flip the switch to the Hold position, turn the key on, then go out and flip it to test and be prepaired to cound the beeps/flashes. Bring a pen and paper to write it down... Its a little confusing at first. Same thing for the KOER... turn the key to the off position after you run your frist test, turn the scanner back to hole, start up the car, turn the scanner to test and count the beeps/flashes

edit: just saw you are trying to do it a different way... sorry cant help you with that part because I've never done it that way... Might want to consider going down to Discount or Autozone and picking up an Actron Code Scanner.
