Setup for Max Traction

    I'm looking to get my 2007 ready for a Twin Turbo kit in the spring. I have the springs, dampners, and gears ready to install next month. I would like to get whatever parts I need to max the traction issues that will come up, especially while I have the car apart. What parts would give me the best traction improvements??

    275/50/17 M&H drag radials, upper and lower control arms. That's what I got and I have no problems on the street with a whipple HO and 4.10 gears, so long as I don't rev it up when I launch.

    I installed the Roush Launch Kit on my '05 and it made a huge difference. It really plants the rear end. No more wheel hop either. Check out roushperf.com for more info.

    Definitely Upper & Lower Control Arms and some Mickey Thompson ET Streets (the DOT slick, not the Drag Radial).

    Take your front sway bar off too to help with weight transfer, free and easy to do. Takes about 20 minutes to jack the car up, unbolt the sway bar and let the car back down. :)

    Battery relocation to the trunk would also help with the weight transfer.

    Depends on how much hp and torque you are aiming for. I don't see a built motor in your plans, so I'll guess about 450-480 rear wheel. Even then, if you are looking at hard biting launches on a prepped track with meaty tires (MTs or 325/45/17 M&H DRs etc) and other mods mentioned, the rearend and even tranny will be more likely to fail. As long as you are spinning the rear tires, a lot of the energy produced is being diverted away from the rearend etc. Once you start to bite hard, the rearend will be absorbing all the energy. I've seen and heard of many rearend and tranny failures. It really happens. My whole transmission is having another rebuild and upgrade in preparation for this track season and it was already rated at 900 hp.

    There is no built engine in the near future. I'm going with the STS twin system and just control the boost level. It is cheaper to go with the twin setup than to upgrade from a single to a twin down the road. An engine rebuild will probably come in the next couple of years. As far as the suspension, since I'll have it apart next month it would be easier for me to do it al at once. I want to get the max from a setup without having to take things off and constantly adjusting them. The car will be 95% used for the street without destroying the car. I'm looking for the fine line between massive failure and best all around traction that I can get without breaking the bank....
