I own a 2006 Mustang Gt conv, just put on a new set of saleen style wheels from American Muscle, car is shaking really bad. Have had the wheels and tires balanced twice, last balance was a road force balance for 150.00, helped a bit but car feels like its from 1969. Any suggestions.

    Thanks

    Call

Call American Muscle and get some help. Take it to a tire shop have them check the wheels. I have had good luck with AM, I'm sure they will help you out.

Remove the wheels and check for the factory clips that go over the wheel stud that hold the rotors on. If they are there just remove them and try that.

check to see if there are spacers between the wheels. this will cause the car to shake at higher speeds

+1 for TestMe, just because the rims have the right lug pattern doesn't mean they fit the car properly. Check the hub vrs the hub hole on the rim if it's not a snug fit then you need hubcentric spacers, also you may need a different lug nut to square the rim onto the hub surface.

Could put the original wheels back on and see if the car shakes. If it doesn't than it has to be a problem with the wheels.

Hey thanks for everyones help, mrv8outboard you nailed it. Stock Mustang rim has recessed flange, new rims do not. Mustangford289 American Muscle were great to deal with , one of the rims was barely in spec they sent a new one no questions asked. Great not to be shakin anymore.
