i just recently, as in two days ago, bought a 96 svt cobra, and the first thing to add that personal effect is i want to change the shift knob and boot. i know the parts i have are compatible because i ordered them through ford, but i dont know how to take the old shift knob and boot off. please someone reply so i have change them as soon as possible. thank you
Shift knob should just twist right off. Follow the rest of the instructions to get the trim/leather boot off below (the trim will "pop" right off, should have a couple of "tabs" on either side of the plastic trim holding the thing in place): http://www.fnsweet.com/garage/shifter/index.shtml
