I'm looking to make a side exhaust with one chambers or bullets. The full length flowtubes would make it too long and it would have to do a bunch of bends to exit which I don't want. Are there any negative effects to having the mufflers with very little flowtube right up against the midpipe so I could do one single 90 degree bend out or do you want longer flowtubes? Why didn't companies that make side exit kits do this in the first place instead of having mufflers like borlas kit with the inlet and outlet on the same side? Would there be any gains with a side exit kit like the one pictured comparable to a tailpipe catback? I figured they wouldn't make any less power considering tailpipes have a huge bend over the axle.

Heres a pic of what i'm talking about..........

one drawback that i know of is that not many subframe connectors work with side exhaust.
