I used some spay silicone to oil the linkage on the automatic shifter, just under the shifter. That took care of some squeaks I had, but it is also hard on the painted console. A couple of days after that I got the car out in the sun and noticed some missing paint where the spray had got on it. I was so mad I just got done doing some spot painting. I love that Lacquer paint from 50 resto, the opal matches perfect. I just prepped the area, masked it off and gave it a couple of shots. Would not know what happened to it now I think I'm going to order an extra can to keep on hand. Alcohol is also hard on the black trim parts in console area, fyi.
