So I have this sound in my dash, it sounds like a fan with a bad bearing or somthing, it is not affected by climate controls at all. its on constantly. loudest at idle. sometimes i think i associate it with bumps at higher speeds, but maybe its just faintly chirping at that speed too..... WHAT could this be.... is there another fan besides climate control fans?

Are you sure its coming from the dash??
Is it from the passenger side or the drivers side?
    High or Low?
    Behind the radio bezel?
Do you drive manual or automatic?

 That TOTALLY works if its the usual "mustang squeaking". Why do you think I put Dynamat in my entire car!!

I have the same problem and the other 04 Mustang I test drove had it too. What mine and the other Mustang's noise is the plastic wiper cowl. I finally figured it out while going through the car wash. When the fan's air hit the cowl it started chirping and then stopped as the air moved past. I confirmed it by tapping on the cowl in different spots and sure enough it chirped. I would have bet it was coming from inside the car behind the stereo but it's outside. Mine doesn't do it that often so I live with it.
