Is the SLP Loudmouth axle back basically a muffler delete setup? In the pictures it doesn't look like it even has resonators. I would like the car to have a nice aggressive tone and was wondering what you guys think.........

I have them and to me they sound awesome. They sound aggressive with out being annoying. They were the first mod I made, I really wanted that oldschool sound. This is just my opinion. I needed more so I added longtubes and a high flow catted h-pipe. To me this setup is ideal, just pushing the limit. :nice:

If you pay $350+ for less then 2 feet of straight pipes with some tips, you're out of your mind.

Sounds like you have a great setup!

That's why I inquired if, in fact, they were just a muffler delete setup. If that's the case I can take it to a local muffler shop and have a custom set of straight pipes made for a fraction of the price.......

I am a very, very patient e-bay shopper. I paid $100 for a used set, including shipping. The guy I purchased them from was a pretty good guy, he included some chrome polish with them. $350. is a ridicules price. The whole aftermarket industry for 05+ mustangs is really kind of sticking it to us.
I think ,with my set up, it is the best that little 281 will ever sound.

In the beginning I tried an x-pipe with the set up, :nono: whooo, what a mistake. It was on the car for about four days, and now in a box on the floor of the garage for about one and a half years.
Any one want to buy a slightly use O/R x-pipe........ ......hahaha :D .

$100 sounds like a fair price! $350 is definitely a bit steep....As I mentioned, there is a shop that does great exhaust work not far from my house. I think I might just have them do a muffler-delete with some conservative chrome tips.

    Dis it sound raspy?

I am going to put mine up on ebay tomorrow for $150...

They might have 1000 miles on them. Perfect condition.

Here is what they sound like with my O/R Prochamber

I have listened to almost all the slp clips on youtube and think it is the best sounding exhaust for the S197. If I had an 05+ that would be my first mod.
