speaker help ASAP PLEASE

    hey im installing my speakers on my new 2002 mustang gt and when i have only the speaker playing with no tweeter or anything else it sounds like its under water and very cloudy... not crisp and clear... is this normal because there midranges or not? thanks... there the speakers in my sig

    By any chance, did the car have a MACH system in it before? Also, what kind of harness are you using for your head unit interface? If the head is still running to the MACH amps, then that's the problem as they're crossed to not allow the highs to the midwoofers. You need to bypass them.

    If the speaker has no tweeter or anything to produce highs, it's not going to sound clear or crisp... The speaker will only produce mids and lows if it's just the cone... this is essentially the purpose of a subwoofer... adding tweeters would clear it right up

    yeah its got the full package... there full range speakers with tweeters
    i think its the amp crossover because the stock ones were just cones, and i do have the mach system...
