Ok...this is actually for my 2005 Taurus....when I am driving...I can hear a squeaking coming from the front left disk brake...and it stops when I hit the brakes.....let the brakes go...squeaking again...

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Take apart the pad, grease all metal the metal surfaces and put it back together, do the clips and backs of the pads and such. Dont need much, don't want any on the brake surface. Sounds like he pads might be riding against the rotor. Check to make sure the caliper isn't seized and not fully retracting back inside. , I would just inspect the brakes and look for anything out of the ordnairy

+1 on the locked up caliper. I've had this happen a few times to me in my 04 f150..... nothing like a wheel glowing red.....:(
