I just bought a new starter for the 2.3. The bolt pattern is the same, and it fits in the opening. However, if you look at the pictures I attached, the actual starter gear is in a different location on the new on. It's pretty much dead center. The old one is offset to one side. Also the body of the starter is much larger. Which is probably good (more starting power?). Lastly, the power connection on the new on is a one-wire approach. The old one had the main positive wire, and a minor ground.

    Thanks for the help

Ok. i figured it out. Basically I'm retarded.

For some reason, I had the wrong model year selected on PartsAmerica.com. The starter I go was for a 91 and earlier. I need a 92-93.

    Please ignore my post.

Don't you love those kinds of mistakes??? The ones you are forced to kick your own ass on.
