Hey All, I drove my '92 LX Automatic 2.3 to work today fine. The problem arised when leaving work when the car would not start.

The car has ample power as the battery is new and the lights and radio both work. The starter is fine as the the engine does crank and turn over. The problem seems to be lack of fuel.

I went to my auto parts dealer the bought a code reader and got two codes:
#334 - EGR Closed Valve Voltage Hight
#543 - Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Fault

Just to let you know. I made sure the intertia switch was plugged in and ok. I also tired to listen for the fuel pump turning on when turning the key to the on position and I don't hear anything (and this is with my ear a inch or two from the gas tank).

My main concern is over the "543" code showing up. Any help concerning what this code means and if its just an indication of a broken fuel pump. Beyond that though, and advice to help get the stang running again would be most appreciated.

I just went back to the car after reading a few previous threads and sure enough one of you posted about making sure the car was in park. Sure enough I wiggled the stick in park and it started right away.

Unbelievable. This forum solves all my problems. Well atleast car problems.
