Anyone have thier car on a dyno with a Steeda CAI? They claim it adds 38rwhp. Just wondering what it really adds.

It's the tune that gives you the real horsepower.

Companies do a base dyno with no mods at all, then put the intake on. Since a tune is required for the intake, they do the tune as well, then say that the intake gave 35-40 horsepower. If they were being truthful, they'd tune before and after. But none of them do that. Steeda is among the top performers, along with JLT II and C&L Racer.

I made 292 whp on a Mustang dyno w/ Steeda CAI w/ elbow, Steeda pulleys, Magnapack cat-back and a custom dyno tune, and I have an auto..I never baselined my car, but I have to assume it was around 250-255 whp..
And yes, it is ALL in the tune..

Check their forum before buying: it is loaded with people having problems with their tunes...many unresolved.

    Yeah, the Steeda tune sucks.

Hey, I forgot about this. I haven't heard of any people having the same problem but my tuners have had a very hard time getting the tune with the Steeda right. Some big AFR issues. That's just my experience, but you may want to try the JLT II or C&L Racer instead.
