My dad and I are workin on updating our steering/suspension a bit, and one of the things we're looking at is the steering box. We were told that a 'fast' steering box is about 4 1/2 rotations of the wheel from lock to lock.

We plan on keeping it manual steer, but which would be better - a 'fast' steering box or some alternative? (I don't know much about em, would the alternative be called a 'slow' steering box?)

    thanks for any info.

A power steering box which is 16:1 (fast by your description) is a good choice for a manual steering car also. It provides faster response and better road feel with a little more effort, but it is definitely worth the swap.

It is a great addition, however it takes a little more strength to turn in parking lots and such.

do you mean, by a little more strength, attaching a winch to the wheels, just so theyd turn when your at a dead stop, or shooting steroids everytime you have to drive your car..... :rlaugh:
