Folks, I'm sorry. I have tried to search the forums for this. But I'm 58 and having senior moments I guess. Please tell me if you can......I have a 2012 V6 coupe base model. Will a leather steering wheel from an 05 to 09 with just cruise swap with the 2012 base steering wheel with just cruise? I can't find an answer to this specific question.

Thank you for your patience.

Made a little progress with Googling this evening. I have an 05 leather wheel with cruise only. I have learned that the cruise harness in the wheel has a different connector than the 10-12. Switches seem to fit both generation harnesses. IE, if I were to find a 10-12 cruise switch harness, it would plug into these 05 switches and yield the correct connector to plug into my 2012 clock spring. What I don't know yet is if the 05-09 clockspring will retrofit up to the 10-12 and again this is all pertaining to a 2012 base V6.

You can use a 2012 steering wheel in a 2005-09 and also the clock spring but you must have the connectors for the new style clock spring. The older o5-09 connectors are different and will not fit the new clockspring. I have both 2011 steering wheel and 2011 head unit, with full function sync. and steering wheel controls on my 05. There is a lot of technical hooking up to do. It took me about six months of research and programing to break through. If you look at the 3rd pic you will see an orange bar on the bottom of the nav unit screen that is the volume being turned up by the steerning wheel switch in the second picture. By the way all swithches work, I also have the sync hooked up for voice controls. This is a very nice mod but it's a bit pricey. Look at the pictures.
