I went out to the track with the 2.3 last week. It was sucessful in that I drove the car home, but I lost to another 10 second camaro and hurt the head gasket. :fuss: It's my fault though. I upped the boost from 21 to 23 psi without checking the AFs before making a 100+mph run. The head gasket should be a 2hr job and cost all of 8.99 for a new gasket, so not a big deal. :p
The only pass of the night was 12.35 @ 111.4mph. I only stalled it to 1600, and got a slowish 1.87 60' time. Then, I wasn't paying much attention and let it run to about 6000 in every gear, instead of nailing the shifts at 5500. I guess I'm not used to the car. :rlaugh: This pass, it hurt the head gasket and was idling on 3 of 4 cylinders when I was picking up the time slip.
I'm still running the stock T3 turbo, which is a huge restriction right now. I don't think anyone has gone more than a few ticks faster on the stock turbo in a full weight car.
To keep it 4.6 related... looks like the next change will be some weight loss for the 2.3. The wife won't let me do a PI swap on the 4.6... something about keeping the car reliable. hehehe
Here is a video and picture of my fun:
