stock clutch cable and adjustable quadrant

    HELP ME PLEASE

    hi guys i need big help i have a 1988gt 5.0 mustang i put the stock cable with the stock self adjusting quad.. i put in a brand new tranny and clutch kit got all the stuff from 50resto.com all brand new stuff. it wont go into gear when i start the car and try to put it in gear it wont go in .. when i turn the car off it will go into gear and when i have the car off and put it in2gear then try to start it the car aka clutch pulls.. so then i put the old after maket ajusting quad thing on it is medal and the after market cable on the thing is we had to but a tons of bolts on the cable under the car at the fork to get the clutch to engage put the fly bearing just spins the hole time and i know thats NO good PLEASE HELP ME

    Everyone state their OPINION and leave it that. Saying one way is better than the other may not be what's best for everyone. By defining your idea as absolute doesn't help if a person has issues beyond your OPINION. Self appreciation as well as depreciation of others on this site is not condusive to an informative dialog. Keep your peen in your pants.

    My stock quadrant had broken teeth. I bought a Steeda adjustable cable but it was junk so I went with the aftermarket quad and firewall adjuster. I've had a UPR quadrant and FW adjuster w/stock cable for over 2 years. You will fry a throw out bearing if you do not adjust it properly but it isn't hard to get it right. As far as keeping adjustment, once you tighten the set screw you shouldn't have any issues.
