Ok In the 95 Convert. Who knows what the actual size is for the stock speakers? I am looking to replace them and would like to know so I can begin the search. Any reccomendations? I plan to keep the stock look unfortunatly there are only 4 speakers in the car. I dont want to lose the trunk space so I need speakers that can put out a full range. If I can find Bose to fit I would consider to buy them...
This is assuming AM/FM/CD and no MACH system: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Pbw3vn...&cc=01&wm=tn&cm_re_o=fB5EzM*5yBpFwEAN*l5TjN99
So, from the sizes listed. What would you use to create a full range of sound? Remember the stock locations for the vert are two in the door and two in the rear sides by the rear passangers thigh.
Most often, the component of the speaker makes a significant impact as to the sound range it provides. Remember, keep bass producing speakers lower in the car and treble/tweets up high for the best blend. In a vert, your biggest culprit will be chambered resonance, so I would get the larger speaker for the space you have. In my '86 vert, I had JBL component speakers all around: 3.5's in the dash and 5x7's in the rear quarters. Then, I had a sealed box of 2 MTX sub's, getting about 200 clean watts of power from a Pioneer amplifier. It was a great sound for rock/punk/anything. It wasn't a ghetto setup of boom at all. Hope you get her going!
well I am trying to stay out of the trunk this time. In the 93 hatch i have: 2 - 4 inch Alpine in the dash 2 - 6.5 Alpine in the doors 2 - 5 x 8 Alpine rear 2 - 12 Rockford Fosgate Comp in the hatch pushed with a Lightning audio 300W amp I am not too worried about price, I can shop around for that, I need the quality for what I can get. This is my head unit. I dont need anything better than this for what I am looking for http://walmart.scosche-cars.com/pro...D1=24&productID=1605&walmartProductID=4456988
in my 97 vert i have infinty kappa perfect component speakers, 6-1/2 in the door with a tweeter up top and 5-1/4 in the back panel with a tweeter in the top hole.. the sound is very clear top up or down, and i put two 10's in the trunk. i know they make other component speakers that put out more bass than mine, but i was planning on using subs so i didnt look for them edit: make that the 6-1/2 in the back and 5-1/4 in the front. sorry
got a link to something I can look at? I think the highest I will go would be 8 inch for the kick panels if I can swing it. http://www.audio-n-more.com/Qlogic/kick_panels.shtml these only go up to 6.5 in.
Looks like I need to explore the dead space in this car.... I almost put 4 - 6.5"s behind the dash in the 93 and I may still do it.
I will have to get in there and root around looking to see where I can place 2 8's I think that I can get them under or behind the dash but they will have to be free air speakers. I am looking into the kick panels for the front and some alternative method for the rear. In all what the plan looks like for now is going to be: Rear: 6.5 components with the tweeter mounted some place close Doors: I will find a way to put 6.5 in there and the tweeters. Kick: custom panels for 6.5" and tweets Dash: In, under, Around, some how I plan to get 8's in there. amp them up and see what it sounds like, I am thinking some mild bass some great highs and mids and a nice clean sound with the top down. now i need to find the products and the cash LOL
