How can I completely strip the chome plating off my pony 5 stars? They are in bad shape and already started to peel. Sandpaper? Chemical? I want to paint them black and be finished with them.
Your best bet is to take them to a chrome shop and have them acid dipped -- or whatever it is the recommend based on the alloy. A little Googling indicates sandblasting might work, but will leave you with a texture that you may not like. Good luck!
