i recently bought 99-150 it was originally a n/a version but a vortech was installed. im not a big fan of the centrifugal blower, i decided to sell it. to replace the lost power i picked up a nx wet kit. its still new and in the box and the more i see used series 2 and 4 blowers pop up for cheap the more i want to get rid of the nx kit and get a eaton instead, but...

    1. whats the difference between a series IV and a series II
    2. why are some series II's black, some silver, some have the logo at the back of the blower, some at the front, some not at all...are they all different?
    3. what all is supposed to come with it? a intercooler that mounts under the blower, a heat exchanger that sits down below somewhere (i think?) a resovoir tank for something up front at the top, and some other misc stuff im assuming?
    4. is the s281sc injectors upgraded from 19lb? maf? fuel pump?
    5. chicane 10lb pulley safe on a stock engine and stock fuel system or do you upgrade? my car has 30lb injectors, a pro-m maf, and a trex pump i could leave on.
    6. can an autometer boost gauge be hooked up to it, or do i need a saleen one?
    7. is there any way to tell on my computer if the powerflash one is still in there or if it was yanked for a stock computer with a vortech chip?

thanks in advance, i asked a bunch i know...probably more to come later as i piece it together. i like this idea better than a nitrous kit, it sounds safer and more fun.

:rlaugh: for like two minutes i was like, why is he asking this for a 1999 f-150? Jeez 14 hours of work in one day will do that to ya. Not sure about all your questions, but here is a small summary of what i know.

My 99 s/c came with 30 pound injectors. I have a chicane pulley, I never saw 10 pounds but the nine pounds never hurt it. Not sure how the intercooler is installed, but i bet you can get a way better custom deal than the saleen contraption.

Regarding the blowers. The series IV is no longer a roots type eaton. It is a twin screw similar to the mercedes setup, and it is much more efficient. Before that we all had different variations on the M90.

Others here will expand greatly on my half assed explanation.

lol, that is a long day...nah its not half assed. glad to know you had 30lb installed i know to keep mine now. so 10psi (or 9 rather) your car made 308 at the wheels? when you say everyone had different variations does that mean the different colored and different placed logos i was referring to? anything mechanically different about them or was it just appearance? so far it looks like all the factory equipped ones were silver and the black ones are from people who bought it aftermarket. but it may just be coincidence. thanks for the input :nice: :nice:
