Just spoke with a Tech @ Saleen thru email regarding changing the oil in the supercharger as I've been getting conflicting information on when it should done.

Saleen has a newer oil for the superchargers from "Nye" that is good for 50,000+ miles. You can purchase it straight from Saleen. Older cars though, like my 02, came with supercharger oil that should be changed every 3,000 miles. I know it was changed at 9,000, but I'm a little past due now.

I don't know when they started using this new oil but I think 04. But if yours is an 02 or older, you have more then 3,000 miles on it, and you haven't changed the oil yet, you might want to.

Changing Oil every 3000 to 4000 on the supercharger miles seems a bit much. Joe from Chicane told me after he installed my Saleen Series ll that the oil didn't need to be changed for 100k miles. I doubt i will have my Saleen that long.

I have heard 50-100k myself but if you every add a smaller pulley to spin it faster I would change it once a year.

I just confirmed with Saleen thru a call with both Sales and Tech support that the older oil in the SC's should be changed around 5,000 miles. That's their recommendation anyway. There seems to be a lot of different views on this issue. KB says 12K for their system, Saleen says 5k for their twin-screw blowers with older oil, 50k with the newer NYE oil. but I have also seen Whipple say 30k if you use synthetic 50w gear oil. I don't think though that 100k is the way to go in any case.
