Hey guys, new to this forum, I usually hang out at RX7Club.com but I think im gonna sell my '87 RX7 TII at the end of the summer and plan on getting a Cobra. I was just wondering what Cobras were supercharged stock. I know Saleen took over in '96, is that when the superchargers were standard on the Cobras? Thanks in advance.
no cobras 03+. or you can be like me and get a new body GT (or an older cobra) and throw a vortech S-trim on there and make even more power for less!! Welcome to the mustang world my friend.
If you are looking for a stock Cobra that is supercharged, the 2003 and 2004s are running around on ebay. There are quite a few produced by Roush Racing, Saleen, Shaun Hyland, Kenny Bell, and the like. But, for the $$ get a used '03 hard top for around 28k(+/-). It should be a competitive to 60 with most turbo RX's. But with about $1k of mods (airbox, chip, and pulley swithes, maybe 2k if you get an exhaust system) and she runs in modified Corvette Z06-Viper-Lambo-Jag-Ferrari racer territory. Try that on for size.
